The Stage Door, Delivery and Load-in Access to the Warner Theatre are all located at the Loading Dock Alley. The street address of the loading dock alley is 550 12 th Street, NW, in the middle of the block on the left at the tunnel entrance, just North of E Street, which is one way North.
From the Baltimore, Maryland Direction:
As you reach the Beltway (495) follow signs to 95 South to Richmond and points east, not Northern Virginia. Exit to the right onto the John Hanson Highway (also called Route 50). This turns into New York Avenue (still Route 50). Follow New York Avenue to 9th Street NW and turn left. Turn right on E Street NW. Turn right on 12th Street NW. The entrance to the Warner Theatre loading dock is on 12th Street NW, between E Street and F Street, on the left, in the middle of the block.
From Route 270 or the Frederick , Maryland Direction:
As you reach the Beltway (495) follow signs to Washington and points east, not Northern Virginia. Exit to the right onto the John Hanson Highway (also called Route 50). From the Fairfax , Virginia Direction (Passenger Cars Only):
Follow Route 66 into Washington. Immediately after crossing the Roosevelt Bridge over the Potomac, follow signs to Constitution Avenue. Follow Constitution Avenue to 12th Street NW. Turn Left onto 12th Street NW. The entrance to the Warner Theatre loading dock is on 12th Street NW, between E Street and F Street, on the left, in the middle of the block. Trucks on Route 66 must exit at Route 495 (Capitol Beltway), travel South to Route 95 and follow the Springfield Virginia directions.
From the Springfield , Virginia Direction:
Take Route 95 north into Washington. As you pass over the Potomac River, look for and follow signs to 14th Street. Follow 14th Street to Constitution Avenue (just after the Mall). Turn right onto Constitution Avenue. Turn left onto 12th Street NW. The entrance to the Warner Theatre loading dock is on 12th Street NW, between E Street and F Street, on the left, in the middle of the block.
From the Metro
Exit the Metro Center Station by the 12th & F Street Exit. The entrance to the Warner Theatre loading dock is on 12th Street NW, between E Street and F Street, in the middle of the block.
From the J W Marriott Hotel
From the Lobby exit, through the retail Mall area, to 13th Street. You will see the front entrance to the Warner Theatre on 13th Street. The Stage door is on the opposite side of the block, on 12th Street NW, between E Street and F Street, in the middle of the block.
TRUCKS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO DRIVE NOSE-FIRST INTO THE ALLEY AND TO PROCEED TO THE VERY END OF THE ALLEY, ON THE LEFT; DO NOT BACK IN.
OUR LOADING DOCK ALLEY IS SHARED WITH SEVERAL OTHER BUSINESSES. DELIVERIES ARE SCHEDULED ALL DAY. PARKING IS USUALLY NOT AVAILABLE.

Again, all loading dock traffic must be scheduled well ahead of time with the Warner Theatre Production Manager.
Parking: Parking for all vehicles must be arranged off-site. There is no parking available other than street parking and commercial lots and garages.
Stage Door: Located at the Loading Dock. Controlled access by security guard.
ALL COMPANY MEMBERS, ARTISTS, MANAGEMENT, AND PRODUCTION PERSONNEL ARE ASKED TO ENTER AND EXIT THE THEATRE THROUGH THE STAGE DOOR
Rehearsal Space: There is no off-stage rehearsal space available at the theatre. Orchestra rehearsals can be arranged in the lobby.

Dressing Rooms
All dressing rooms comply with Equity standards.
Star Dressing Rooms (#1 & 2) Two rooms, each with make-up tables, mirrors, and full private toilet with showers. There is a divider between these rooms that can be opened to create a large Star Suite. Just off Stage Right up four stairs.
Wheelchair Accessible Dressing Room (#3) One small room with make-up station and full private toilet with shower. PLEASE NOTE: this is the only bathroom near the stage. For this reason, it is almost always used as a crew/staff/musician bathroom and not as a dressing room. If it is necessary to use it as a dressing room, the restrooms connected to the Principal Rooms must be available for use by everyone backstage.
Principal Rooms (#4,5,6) Three rooms each with 4 make-up stations and sink. Two full toilets with showers on this level (1 Men's/1 Women's). One flight up; off Stage Right.
Chorus Dressing Rooms (#1-6) Three pairs of rooms; each pair of rooms with ten make-up stations, toilets, sinks, and two or three showers. Accessible by elevator or two flights of stairs down from stage level beneath the lobbies, near the Wardrobe Room.

Wardrobe Facilities
Wardrobe Workroom is located two levels down from the stage door – loading dock near the Chorus dressing rooms and is accessible by elevator (max. capacity 3'9"W x 6'6"L x 6'11"H) from loading dock. One 500 square foot workroom; one office; one laundry room with: 2 washers, 2 dryers, steamer, iron and board available.

MERCHANDISING, CATERING & GREEN ROOM
Please contact: Director of Food and Beverages (202-626-8263.) All food, drink, refreshments, catering (Theatre, dressing rooms, and backstage), and merchandising must be arranged through the Warner Theatre.
The Green Room is located one level down from the stage door – loading dock and accessible by elevator and stairs. The kitchen has a sink, warming oven, a commercial refrigerator and ice machine.

Visiting
Company Offices
here are a number of spaces which may be arranged as offices depending on the needs and priorities of the visiting company. The usual location is our stage left “Actor's Lounge” which is up one-half flight from the stage. Office cases are carried up the steps with a short left turn.

Company Telephones and High Speed Internet
There are a limited number of phone lines that can be installed in many of the rooms backstage for visiting company. Electronic answering, Faxes and FAX/Modems can be used on any of these lines. High speed Internet connections are also available in the dressing rooms and production offices. Please contact the Production Manager to arrange for phone and DSL service and to discuss costs.

Floor: Fully sprung hardwood; black; free of wax and other preparations. No traps.
Screws, nails, and drilling will not be allowed. Please arrange for some other method of securing scenery, lights, sound equipment, etc..
Rosin will not be allowed on the theatre stage floor.
Only Permacel tape, or its equivalent, will be allowed on the floor.

DC Permit Requirements
The DC Government requires special permits for the use of any pyrotechnics effects, laser beam effects or the use of real. prop, or replicate firearms. If your show incorporates any of these effects, please contact the Production Manager at least two weeks prior to opening night.

Orchestra
Pit
The orchestra pit is normally closed and filled with legged platforms and additional seats installed. Conversion of the pit, both in and out, will be at the Renter's expense. It is normally a 6-person/4-hour call to convert the pit each way.
There are no mechanical lifts.
The pit filler can be raised to extend the apron of the stage. The pit filler can support a piano or scenic elements.
Conversion of the pit is usually done the day before load-in and the day after load-out. Please discuss this with the Production Manager.
House capacity is reduced with pit open.

SPEAKER STACKS ON THE STAGE WILL CREATE SIGHTLINE PROBLEMS. WE CAN FLY A SINGLE LINE ARRAY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE STAGE IN FRONT OF THE PERSCENIUM. HOWEVER, SPACE IS LIMITED. PLEASE RESOLVE THIS POSSIBILITY WELL IN ADVANCE.

Sound Level Management
Tenants are encouraged to use the sound system installed in the Warner Theatre. This sound amplification system produces sound pressure levels of 107 dB (A or C) peak (which is about equal to 97 dB (A or C) continuous) at a distance of 50 feet from the central loudspeaker cluster (approximately the distance from the cluster to the center of the balcony rail) when the main control consoles Left and Right output level indicating meters reach "0 VU".
Due to the unique design and acoustic nature of the Warner Theatre and its sound systems, and due to the existence of an office and retail building immediately adjacent, above, and below the Theatre, the Theatre has determined that the maximum allowable level for sound in the Theatre is:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Evenings after 8:00 PM
96 dBA as measured from the back of the orchestra, and
98 dBA as measured from the balcony rail
All Other Times
93 dBA as measured from the back of the orchestra, and
95 dBA as measured from the balcony rail
Crowd noise is factored into the metering process by means of a device which states the real-time SLP and will not affect the application of this clause.
These levels are critical for the clarity of sound in the Warner Theatre, the safety and enjoyment of patrons and employees of the Theatre, and the uninterrupted business operations of the office and retail tenants in the building in which the Theatre is situated.
If the tenant exceeds the dBA limit described here for more than 60 seconds at any time, or more than 3 times in excess of 20 seconds, each in any 5 minute period, as measured by the house monitoring equipment:
i) Tenant will be responsible for any refund requests which will be deducted from the Artists fee at settlement; and
ii) Tenant acknowledges that excessive sound level, poor sound quality and/or a breach of the dBA sound limits in this clause will be a determining factor in future Theatre bookings.
The Tenants sound engineer/technician will be required to sign an agreement to this effect as part of the Warner Theatre rental agreement.

Solutions
to Production Problems
Many of you know and have worked in the Warner Theatre for many years, but, if you have not been through in the past few years, you have not had the opportunity to see the benefits of a three year, ten million dollar renovation. Most of those millions did not go to cosmetics, but, to structural and mechanical systems, expansion of backstage facilities, and stage equipment including new sound and lighting systems, rigging and deck.
Realistically, however, we were built in 1924 as a Movie Palace and still must overcome some of the challenges that naturally come with a stagehouse not originally built for the spectacles we see on tour today. We preface our Stage Specs by identifying the challenges and offering solutions in anticipation of the questions we know you will have regarding some our problem areas. We have played approximately two hundred and forty shows annually since we reopened in late 1992 and have overcome many obstacles.
Our greatest advantages backstage are our staff Production Manager, our Local 22 Steward, and a pool of creative, experienced and cooperative stagehands.
A) Onstage Road Dimmer Location
Solution:
The Warner Theatre recognizes the lack of space onstage for Road Dimmers, consequently we provide, Stage Left, a Dimmer Gallery that is off the Deck, and an one-ton chain motor, with trolley, to lift Dimmer to location. In addition, on this level, we provide four sets of camlock tails that supply power to four/96 racks.
B) Stage Depth
Solution:
Due to physical plant limitations, the depth of the Warner stage, is less than others. We have added a pit filler so the orchestra pit can be built up to stage height, giving you a thrust-type apron of nine feet. We can also provide a four or eight foot extension to the stage for a more squared look.
C) Stage Level Rail Operation
Solution:
Our offstage right area is limited so we have an additional upper rail operating location so all Flymen can be off the deck. This frees the stage right area for safe scenic storage and clear exits.
D) Scenic Storage Stage Right
Solution:
Recognizing the limited scenic storage space, we have two one-ton chain motors which can be rigged stage right to fly scenic elements until they are needed. The hallway is also available for storing work boxes, hampers and cases, and rolling scenery and set props.
E) Scenic Storage Stage Left
Solution:
We regret that there is no remedy for large scenic storage stage left, but there is room to store props. With our stage left pin rail system, we have been able to store various prop pieces in their cue sequence, enabling us to keep the stage deck clean and safe with props out of sight lines.
F) Grid Height
Solution:
Due to lack of Grid height, for some productions we stay can adjust system pipe low trim heights, giving you up to three feet additional out-trim. We also have batten clamps to clamp onto scenic drops, shortening drop length to get desired out-trim.

SIGHTSEEING IN WASHINGTON D.C
There are lots of interesting places to visit in our nation's capitol within walking distance of The Warner Theatre. HOWEVER, please inform your cast and crew that most of the sites are constantly under the elevated security alert.
If you take a bag, briefcase, backpack, tool belt, belt pouch, Leatherman tool or knife you will probably be turned away from the museum or historic sight.
We recommend that you leave all such items in your workbox, or in our lockers or in your hotel before taking advantage sightseeing opportunities. -
